Snowy Van

    Snowmaggedon

What a winter poor Vancouver has had!
From frozen highways to endless snowfall
What emotions I felt, anorak clad,
That December joined with Spring standing tall
To remove our meeting with summer's time,
Even May saw odd days of fallen hail
Bearing sure signs of weaning summer’s prime,
Like nagging parents whose warnings fall stale
Prayers for warm days elusive to me
But hopes of beaches, ice cream, summer’s fruit,
Keeps me dreaming of days warm and carefree
At last, the sun renders the pale snow mute.
If birds sing, their songs would bring a loud cheer;
My song welcomes the end of a cold year.
